Who Is "Scotty" Wilson?

While reading a book about the Somme our Secretary Davy, noticed on a page the word "Kilmarnock", on further inspection of that, he found the passge that spoke about, "Scotty" Wilson a Kilmarnock born soldier who served with the 14th Battalion Royal Irish Rifles aka the Y.C.V that had trained in Randalstown around 1915 and was then sent to England before being sent to France to fight. There was no other mention of "Scotty" Wilson nor Kilmarnock in the rest of the book this prompted Davy to write up a letter to the local press, The Kilmarnock Standard, for help.

You can read the letter on the following link that was published on 27th March 2009 in the Kilmarnock Standard.

At present we have had no response regarding "Scotty" Wilson but our investigation is ongoing with planned visits to our local library and a visit to The Somme Heritage Center in Newtownards.
